Phil Parker, co-founder of Ai Records and founder of SRL (Suburb the Record Label), brings us this DJ Mix showcasing the artists and music of SRL. Launched in the summer of 2005, this mix will most likely be the first glimpse of this promising label for many of you. Although closely associated with Ai Records, SRL is not an offshoot label. It is a new label with a new musical plicy. Their first release, the SRL Sampler, is due out at the end of this month. This set is a perfectly timed primer for the sound of SRL. SRL is also closely associated with the London Electrics Collective, a collaboration between Ai Records, Expanding Records, Furthur, Highpoint Lowlife, Seed Records, SRL and Uncharted Audio. LE-01, a 12 track compilation featuring exclusive tracks from all the labels, will be released in August alongside a new magazine dedicated to the London electronica scene! This SRL Showcase Mix is available as a streaming or downloadable Mp3 or as a multi chapter, enhanced AAC podcast.
