The music of Arfan Ezra Munir Rai,
Vizier of Damascus, draws comparison to early Boards of Canada. They remind us here at Percussion Lab of a dark, broken Casino Vs. Japan. This musical inspiration for this set seems to draw from Arfanâ??s eastern roots which originate in Arabia, Persia and Central Asia. His output is often varied - at times there is a strong lo-fi character to his music - field recordings, warm, scratchy, grainy, reverberating sounds. Much like the character of eastern music, this set seems to be driven less by linear principles and more by content driven narrative. There is often a strong sense of story in these compositions.
