Styles Upon Styles is a Brooklyn-based label started by Cam Curran and Phil Tortoroli with the goal of seeking out and championing a variety of sounds that suited their unique sonic palette.

With three critically acclaimed releases to their credit, the fio hsve definitely staked out a wide territory, range from Clay Wilson's dirty techno to the smoked-out r'n'b sounds of King Garbage.

The mix is split into 2 parts, with Cam kicking things off with an ode to New York hip hop and downtempo. Phil picks up the pace about halfway through with some leftfield techno. Track list below.

Boulder, CO's Communikey Festival (April 25-28) is always one of the more intriguing events on the festival calendar. The festival is hyper local, but reliably features some expertly curated out of town guests with each installment. We're good friends with some of the organizers, and our own Nooka Jones will be journeying out west to play the after hours circuit this coming weekend. 'For our latest podcast, we tapped long-time CMKY affiliate and Make Mistakes resident Attentat to sift through the CMKY2013 program and bring into focus a concise distillation of the sounds that lay in store for attendees of this year's festival. In short order, he sent us an eclectic selection that seamlessly blends the ambient folk revisions, shuffling downtempo, deepest techno structures and hermetic electronic explorations that this year's festival is built around. CMKY2013 kicks off on April 25th in Boulder, CO. We hope to see you there!

Blind Prophet is native-Long Islander Joseph Burns. After his first release on Seattle-based label Car Crash Set in May 2010, Blind Prophet has seen his music appear on other labels like L2S Recordings, Gradient Audio, DubKraft, and Haunted Audio. Along with his steady release schedule, he's performed in the United States, Canada, and Europe, playing alongside Joe Nice, Compa, Self Evident, Truenature, Alien Pimp, HxdB, Lion Dub, Archie Pelago, and HGLDT. His productions have been played on Sub.fm and Rinse.fm, as well as receiving support from Dusk + Blackdown, BunZer0, Submerse, and Whistla.

In 2012, Burns founded South Fork Sound. As the first record label of its kind from Long Island, NY, the label sets its sights on the horizon with the intention to recognize this same endlessness in creativity through music.
