AUGUST 3, 2009
us & us (may 2009) for motion radio
"talking points and frames of reference”
transmitting from mount vernon, new york, usa
supplying musical therapy by way of vinyl, cd, cassette, and mp3
*us & us* is a monthly show i put together for motion radio - just an open space where i can let the crate digger in me get loose a little bit. it is my plan to create some exclusive sets for percussion lab, but i thought this might be a good one to showcase for the official website launch.
this is me getting used to the new mixer in my house after not having one for at least a year and a half. i hadn’t touched a pair of turntables in what seemed like forever. i didn’t want there to be a whole lot of planning although i did have certain songs and blends in mind. i just hit record and went for it.
everything between plaid and hrvatski was one take. mike ladd and diego cortex were added on as bookends later. i’ll admit that this is somewhat of a nervous mix, but it’s also an honest one. and honesty has been pushing its way to the forefront of my life lately, which is a good thing.
tracklisting:
1. mike ladd – libations
